Her Place
part two
thesis

Textile Description
HerPlace is created mainly with crochet, which can only be accomplished by hand. By being created from the hand, HerPlace connects domestic womanhood to art. This piece also features machine knitting on a domestic machine. HerPlace is composed of various yarn fibers including cotton, acrylic, and various others.

Concept Description
HerPlace (pt 2) is an interactive, crochet and knit space. A soft environment. She is a continuation of HerPlace (pt 1), the artist’s previous semester work focusing on feminism, utopias, reproduction, and womb. By focusing on connection, HerPlace provides a correlation to being an interactive piece and the sense of community. Womanhood is a strong subject that the artist focuses on while making and creating. Womanhood influences everything she does. This piece, HerPlace, allows for space; for being. It allows for femininity. This is a space to embrace who you are, and to connect with womanhood. It is a woman’s space. HERPLACE.
